Barrel 21 Distillery is committed to creating exceptional and award-winning spirits. From grain to glass, all aspects of the distillation process are done in-house utilizing Pennsylvania grains and barrels. The distillery maintains a core set of spirits, including our bourbon and whiskies, while continuously introducing unique and creative small batch spirits. Barrel 21 Distillery provides Happy Valley and beyond with outstanding and one-of-a-kind products that you cannot find anywhere else, we hope you stop in for a sample or a bottle of your own.

Our distillery features a 350 liter still with a 7-plate rectifying column, dephlegmator (pre-condenser), and a steamless steel condenser. It was built in 2015 by Carl Artisian Stills located just outside of Stuttgart, Germany. The Carl family has been building stills of the highest quality since 1869. Our Carl still is heated by steam and is designed to preserve the delicate aromas and flavors that add to the complexity of our spirits.

The still, alembic, and rectifying column are constructed out of copper, which has many benefits - including good heat transfer, wetting properties, and bonding with sulfur compounds - creating a clean and pure spirit.

After we produce the spirit, it is transferred to one of our spirit storage tanks where it is blended with purified water to achieve either a barrel strength or a bottle strength.
